Do good and buy beautiful things

The ABURY Foundation empowers women and girls to develop their potential and lead a self-determined life.

Traditional craftsmanship meets modern design.

There are things that simply make you happy. Because they are beautiful. Because they tell a story. And because they can do more than just look good. Just like the handmade accessories from ABURY.

The ABURY Foundation empowers women and girls in Africa and Latin America on many levels. One of them is to support female artisans so that their age-old art does not die out and they can earn a fair income.

In the ABURY store you will find unique handmade items – created by women who pass on a piece of their culture with every seam, every bead, and every pattern. And best of all, with every purchase you support a woman in Africa or Latin America. You’re celebrating their art, their passion – and yes, you’re having fun too.

The ABURY Foundation – reality begins with dreams

Many women have never learned to dream for themselves. They grow up in structures in which their place is predetermined. They have no role models in their community. And if no one shows them that change is possible – how can they believe in it?

This is exactly where the ABURY Foundation comes in. It gives women and girls in Morocco, Rwanda and Ecuador the tools they need not only to shape their own future, but also to inspire others.

The ABURY Foundation is a non-profit organization that sees education as the key to a sustainable future. It was founded by Andrea Bury, who moved from Munich to Marrakech in 2007 after a successful career in international marketing. In 2011, she launched the fair lifestyle brand ABURY Collection, which was followed by many other projects. The Abury Foundation has been run by a total of four female shareholders for 4 years.

The mission:
Education as the key to change

In many African and Latin American countries, girls do not have the same opportunities as they do here. Without access to education, they are often denied the opportunity to develop their own dreams and shape a self-determined future. However, education is the key to creating prospects, promoting independence and breaking the cycle of poverty.

Empowering girls and young women. Creating opportunities. Changing the future.

At the ABURY Teenage Girls Club, girls learn to find their voice, know their rights and strengthen their self-confidence. Young women from the region accompany them through workshops. A competition enables individual girls to take part in the Girls Leadership Academy in Berlin.

In Marrakech, a training program in the hospitality industry is opening up new opportunities for women. In addition to gastronomy and hygiene, they learn languages, computer skills and soft skills. After graduation, they receive support in finding a job.

Sisterhood of Female Entrepreneurs

In Rwanda, the ABURY Foundation supports women with the “Becoming Nala” project. In rural regions, women lack access to knowledge, role models and resources. Although they are legally equal, true equality often remains out of reach.

The Sisterhood of Female Entrepreneurs connects educated women in the city (Big Sisters) with women in the countryside (Start Up Sisters). A digital platform provides access to mentors, funding and training, while local networks enable direct exchange.
